glastonbury, five in five days, kangaroo and goat
sunday morning and its time for breakfast yet again. i can now reveal that the stall i have been frequenting over the past few days has been the osgrow stall, as shown below. i couldn't post this picture before for reasons of giving away the meats i was going to eat! the staff were very friendly and helpful in meat and sauce choices, and even though they were only selling three meats at the stall, they can supply lots of different animals to eat - which i will be making full use of in the future..
the only meat left to eat via these lovely people was kangaroo, which i had with a nice cumberland sauce. it was really tender and dark, a great flavour to it and the sauce complimented it perfectly! one of the most delicious meats of the Glastonbury animal journey, only surpassed by the meat i ate the very same day!
and that meat was goat. curried goat to be precise, from a caribbean stall near the jazz world stage (right next to the brother's bar, which made it a mission to get to with the massive queues!) i had just finished watching adem at the park stage and picked it up on the way to the tent. unfortunately my phone had died so was worried that i couldn't get a picture, but luckily my friend ellie was at the tent and took a picture for me, hence the difference in photo quality! it does look like a bit of a mess, but trust me when i tell you it was absolutely delightful. it was quite similar to beef but with it's won flavour, and served with some awesome rice concoction and some 'salad' - which was pretty much just cut lettuce!
i scoffed quite a lot of it down in the rain on the trudge to the tent, but held off demolishing it in minutes so i could get a picture for the record and to make it eligible for a strike.and that was the end of my Glastonbury feasting adventure, landing me on 16 meats after 11 weeks! now i have to attempt to find some on the southcoast, as i have moved away from london to find work over summer. the story continues..
