glastonbury, five in five days, crocodile
so, let's catch up a little. i have been to Glastonbury festival 2007 and i have had a ridiculously good time, and ran into some ridiculously tasty animals. five animals to be exact. in five days. pretty yummy and pretty good going even if i say so myself. and here i am, back at home, on the old apple macbook, weary, painful, dead to the world and trying to remember what i did and so forth - its a bit of a mission i tell you! cue hazy memory lines wobbling to and fro...
we got to Glastonbury at about 10am on the wednesday morning and began the trek with all our stuff for a mile or so down and up the valley, passing all the wonderful stalls, sights and sounds, and the half nice smells and the half not so nice smells too. i was keeping my eye open for some exotic meat stalls, and so were the rest of TEAM AWESOME (our group of merry people, flag et al.). christine wins the day by spotting four of the five meats before i even had time to blink (i'll keep the meats under wraps so it's more of an adventure for you as i write about them in the next week or so!), and i started to drool at the prospects of a very meaty weekend indeed!
however, it wasn't until thursday that i tried my first meat, due to wednesday being very tiring due to all the tent making and sorting, running around the fields before they got too muddy, general exploring and solstice fire making. i went down to the van that christine had pointed out the day before and spent no time in ordering a lovely looking crocodile burger on granary bread. it was served with salad and i dolloped on some really tasty sauce, i think it was a sort of chutney made from sweetcorn and apple, as recommended by the moustachioed vendor. the crocodile meat was very tender and quite salty, though this didn't spoil the taste. as far as i can remember it was delicious, whilst being quite light yet filling. i certainly would recommend this to anyone trying out some meats for themselves!
and that was my first meat of Glastonbury festival 2007! stick around as i shall be updating this blog over the week with the other four meats and stories from the festival!

A rather yummy looking burger there, of all the unusual meats I feel most tempted by crocodile - especially if it comes with that delicious looking sauce ... mmm!
